FACILITY MANAGEMENT / EXPERTISE:

Research Experience
Managed a molecular drug library and operated key analytical instruments including capillary electrophoresis and liquid-liquid extraction systems.

Technical Expertise
Specialized in the application of organic chemistry to the extraction, purification, synthesis, and analysis of highly polar natural compounds. Developed methods for the degradation of high molecular weight polysaccharides using chemical and enzymatic approaches, followed by purification and characterization of their monosaccharide composition, stereochemistry, chemical structure, and molecular size. Investigated glycans and glycan complexes associated with disease. Developed o-phenylenediamine-based fluorescent labeling reagents and applied this platform to the analysis and process quality control of foods, dietary supplements, and glycosylated pharmaceuticals. Proficient in conventional glycan composition and structural analysis techniques, including HPAEC-PAD, NMR, LC-MS, MALDI-TOF-MS, and GC-MS.
