RESEARCH INTERESTS:

Molecular and genomic epidemiology

Researches in the Chen’s lab encompass a broad spectrum of molecular and genomic epidemiology. They include:

  • Long-term follow-up study on the risk prediction models for hepatocellular carcinoma, cervical carcinoma, and nasopharyngeal carcinoma including biomarkers of chronic infection of hepatitis B and C virus, human papillomavirus, and Epstein-Barr virus, respectively, as well as susceptibility genotypes and lifestyle characteristics of the host;
  • Molecular and genomic biomarkers of health hazards caused by chronic arsenic poisoning: gene-environment interaction;
  • Genome-wide association study and polygenic risk scores for hepatocellular carcinoma, cervical carcinoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and lung adenocarcinoma.
  • Assessment of the effectiveness of national programs related to cancer control in Taiwan.
