The 2008 Wang Ming-Ning Award goes to Dr. Shie-Liang Hsieh

Hsieh_Shie_Liang2Congratulations to Dr. Shie-Liang Hsieh, GRC Adjunct investigator from Yang-Ming University, for receiving the 2008 Wang Ming-Ning Award. He will receive a one million NT dollars grant from this award.

The Wang Ming-Ning Award is sponsored by the Wang Ming-Ning Memorial Foundation which gives out the award once a year to a domestic researcher in medicines for the person旧 outstanding research result that contributes to public health issues.

Hsieh has worked closely with GRC researchers. In May 2008, his publication in Nature regarding the research finding that could help the development of therapeutic agents for dengue viral diseases has drew huge attention worldwide. The research was further collected by Nature Functional Glycomics Gateway in its Publication Highlights section.
