2003 Balzan Prize in genetics and evolution

Dr. Wen-Hsiung Li, a member of US National Academy of Sciences and Academia Sinica and visiting scholar at the Genomics Research Center (GRC), received this year’s prestigious Balzan Prize in genetics and evolution (International Balzan Foundation) with a cash award of US$700,000. Dr. Li is currently a chair professor in Department of Ecology and Evaluation, University of Chicago. His major research interests are focused on the processes and mechanisms of molecular evolution.
