Professor Wen-Hsiung Li elected as member of US National Academy Sciences

Professor Wen-Hsiung Li, a visiting scholar of the Center, was elected member of the United States National Academy Sciences at its annual meeting on April 29, 2003 in Washington, D.C. Dr. Li was recognized for his pioneering work on computational and evolutionary genomics and bioinformatics. He is currently the George Beadle Professor at the University of Chicago and a visiting scholar of the Genomics Research Center at Academia Sinica where he is a co-director of the research program on computational and evolutionary genomics. This program is currently focused on the development of new bioinformatics tools for aligning genomics sequences, identifying gene regulation pathways and studying the evolution of yeast protein interaction network.
