RESEARCH INTERESTS:

Enhance efficiency of drug delivery and targeting.

Targeting tumor cells via the G-protein coupled receptor or via the unique small molecular transporter; Targeting hepatocytes via the asialoglycoprotein receptor; Enhancing rate of neuro-drug across the brain blood barrier by glyco-conjugated drugs.

Bioorganic and proteomic study of immuno-functions of carbohydrates: Identifying the carbohydrate receptors on the membrane of immuno-lymphocytes, and structure and functions of carbohydrate moieties in the immune systems; study the mechanism or interaction of carbohydrates with receptors and using DNA array, proteomics and bioinformatics approach to study its downstream biochemical mechanism.

我們的研究著重在以化學的觀點來瞭解生命的現象, 目前研究工作主要有二部分:

  1. 增進醫藥傳送及療效:G-蛋白偶連受體或特定小分子運載蛋白來輸送藥物 ; 用醣基結合藥物來增進藥物之腦膜穿透效率; 用特定肝細胞受體來輸送基因及iRNA .
  2. 研究醣類與淋巴免疫細胞功能:瞭解最小有效醣類分子之結構; 確認淋巴免疫細胞胞膜上與醣類分子作用之受體; 及醣類分子結合到胞膜上受體後淋巴免疫細胞之下游反應機制.
