RESEARCH INTERESTS:

We are interested in the study of the guest-host interaction in the condensed phases, particularly the molecular recognition and the structural dynamics in biological systems. Recently, we also put our attention on the design new molecules for fluorescence biomarkers and antitumor agents. Currently activities involve (1) Investigation of dye-DNA interaction by using spectroscopic methods to probe the binding sites between chromophore and DNA and to identify various DNA conformational structures, particularly the telomeric DNA; (2) Investigation of the structure-activity correlation of anti-telomerase agents; (3) Design and synthesis new compounds for antitumor agents and fluorescence biomarkers; (4) Monitoring the folding and unfolding of quadruplex structure, tracing the pathway of drug delivery and probing drug-target interaction by using single molecule microscopy and spectroscopy.

我們的研究工作主要著重在探討凝態中主客分子的交互作用,特別是生物分子的分子辨識與結構變化的動態之基礎研究。同時進行螢光探針與藥物分子的研發。目前 的研究重點分別是(1) 利用光譜方法探討探針分子與DNA的交互作用,特別是作用位置與結構變化;(2) 研究抗端粒酵素作用分子之結構與生物活性之關係;(3) 設計及合成抗腫瘤藥劑或螢光生物標記;(4) 建立單分子螢光光譜與影像技術,研究 DNA的多變型結構之變化機制,監測藥物輸送的路徑過程及其在細胞中與標的物的作用。
